Alleged pimping of "Pastillas Girl" by Showtime

After constantly struggling for the ratings every noontime since the AlDub phenomenon strikes, ABS-CBN’s “Showtime”, together with its hosts and producers, have another situation to deal with. Just a week ago, a complaint letter for the show’s segment “Pastillas Girl”, was sent to Mr. Mark Rejano, ABS-CBN’s Executive Producer by Ms. Joan May Salvador, Secretary General of Gabriela. Gabriela being a well-known party list which deals with the protection and advancement of women’s right, did not let this pressing issue pass. Armed with protests from concerned citizens, Ms. Salvador requested the Showtime Executive Director to conduct an investigation on the allegations raised. Based on the assertions from the concerned citizens, it seems that the show is peddling Ms. Pastillas to various men.

 “We have been consistent in our statement that competition to sell the show and the ratings war should not be done at the expense of women” indicated by Ms. Salvador in her letter. To remain fair and unbiased on the issue, they urged Rejano to publicly respond in the allegations reported.

Furthermore, MTRCB’s attention on the issue was also called by Gabriela by sending them a copy of the mentioned complaint letter.

    another level of pimping? syempre i-defense ng managament yan, for sure gagamitin nila "for entertainment use" alibi. may blessing ang ABS CBN management dyan para lang magkarating ang It's SHOWTIME. Pero iba na po kasi ang context ng PASTILLAS portion nila. its not a plain dating game, its pimping in tagalog BUGAW. Tama lang po yung ginawa ng GABRIELA to call the attentions of proper authorities.

    wla tlga ito show nato wla sence ginawa at wla aral pa pinalalabas gagayahin ang eb kc talo sa rating at mawawala show nila kc talo na sila wla kapa matutunan.
