China has been in constant news with regard to controversial “fake” items.

First, there were news about infant milk with melamine and rat meats sold as mutton or beef, then there were videos of fake eggs, fake vegetables, rice noodles made from mouldy grain and even fake death!

And now comes another “fake” story from China.

The newest addition to the long-list of fake things is bubble tea pearls.

An incident was recorded in Qingdao where a reporter bought a pearl milk tea from a local store in the area.

The reporter, upon suffering from stomach ache, then went to the hospital only to find out from a CT Scan result that there were stomachful of undigested tapioca pearls.

These pearls were apparently, made from soles of leathers shoes and old tires!

However, this allegation were still yet to confirm by scientists from Qingdao University Chemical Experimentation Center but described the substance as “highly adhesive”.
