A CCTV footage has been released by New Orleans police shows the moment a man shot a medical student at point blank range.

The student shot was identified as Peter Gold, a 25-year-old Tulane medical student. Gold intrude when he saw the suspect dragging a woman toward a parked SUV.

Soon after the suspect shot Gold in the stomach and when he tries to shoot him a second time, the gun jams. The suspect grabs the woman's purse and drives away. 

The gunman was identified as 21-year-old Euric Cain in which obtained arrest warrants for Attempted First Degree Murder, Second Degree Kidnapping and Armed Robbery.




Gold is in now recovering at a New Orleans hospital and the woman in the video was released with minor injuries.
