Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao declared on Monday his plans to step up his political career in the upcoming May 2016 election by running for a seat in the Philippine Senate.

Wooed by President Benigno Aquino's ruling Liberal Party and being close enough to the leaders of the Pac-Man said that he is still unsure to which party he will join.




However, this declaration from the boxing champ earned varied reactions from his fans. Reactions posted in the social media are mostly negative. "Pacman, you're my idol. But in the boxing ring. Not in Congress. Sorry," one fan posted on Twitter. "Pacquiao, you can't even go to sessions in Congress. Now you want to go to Senate? What are you going to do there?" another fan posted.
