News about It’s Showtime’s alleged pimping of Pastillas Girl have been circulating the social media sites and concerned televiewers have caught the attention of the group called Gabriela – an organisation dealing with the protection and advancement of women's rights.

Moreover, the controversy led to the summoning of the management by MTRCB to answer such allegations.

But here’s the other side of the news. In their statement which they aired last October 8 on TV Patrol, It’s Showtime’s management denied the accusation that they are “pimping” Ms. Angelica Yap - popularly known as “Pastillas Girl”.

They also added that the show demonstrates “positive values such as forgiveness, honesty and being open to new possibilities.”

The management furthermore added “Angelica Yap has the freedom of choice to do and reveal what she wants.

She was never forced to do anything without her full consent.”
