A photo of Pope Francis is viral online due to the rumors that this is the popes “first official selfie” as other claimed.

But according to numerous sources including CNN the photo was “fake” and it is a screenshot taken from a video chat when the Pope is talking to young people from five continents last year.

The photo was posted on @vatican__ claiming to be Vatican’s official Instagram account.
